Aim
•Designed to revise basic examination skills and introduce special tests useful for fracture and elective clinics and on-call work.
0830-0845 Registration
0845-0900 Introduction – Professor Bannister
0900-1015 Hip examination – Professor Bannister
1015-1045 Break
1045-1200 Spine examination
1200-1230 Discussion/Troubleshooting
1230-1315 Lunch
1315-1430 Foot and ankle examination – Mr Hepple
1430-1500 Break
1500-1615 Knee examination – Mr Porteous
1615-1645 Discussion/Troubleshooting
1645 Closing remarks
Individual joints/subspecialty areas
Introduction and demonstration from Subspecialty Consultant
Individual practice with 1 to1 Medical Student (from SCRUBS surgical society)
Potential for Consultants to bring a patient(s) with interesting physical signs
Each session to last approximately 1-1.5 hours with a short break (15 minutes) between sessions and a longer break for lunch (45 minutes to 1hour)
NB local Consultants would only have to be available for a couple of hours
