Basic Principles of Fracture Fixation
For Core T&O trainees (and FY2s with an interest in orthopaedic trauma)
Overview
Lead by expert consultant faculty, this course features hands-on practicals, mini-lectures and small group discussions covering:
- DHS
- Principles of External Fixation
- Plate fixation
- Lag screws
- Case Based Discussion
- Bio-mechanical theory of bone fixation and healing
Participants will receive lunch and coffee, a course manual, as well as a course certificate.
To maximise time for practical application, participants are expected to complete the pre-course reading and questions prior to attending.
This is an RCS (Eng) accredited mandatory course for Severn orthopaedic themed core trainees. We hope you can attend this excellent one day course which will cover the basic principles of fracture fixation.
