Lorec Cadaver Course for Extra-Levator APE

Location: Vesalius Surgical Training Centre, Department of Anatomy at the School of Veterinary Sciences, University of Bristol, Southwell Street BS2 8EJ
Aimed at consultant colorectal surgeons or senior surgical trainees who wish to extend their practice to low TME and APR. This 1-day practical course will cover both the laparo-scopic and conventional approach for Extra Levator Abdominoperineal Resection (ELAPE).
The course will feature:
- Surgical skills rehearsal with fresh frozen human cadavers
- Laparoscopic approach to low rectal cancer
- Perineal resection: cylindrical approach
- Surgical reconstruction (plastic surgery demo and mesh repair)
