Aimed at consultant colorectal surgeons or senior surgical trainees who wish to extend their practice to low TME and APR. This 1-day practical course will cover both the laparo-scopic and conventional approach for Extra Levator Abdominoperineal Resection (ELAPE).

The course will feature:

  • Surgical skills rehearsal with fresh frozen human cadavers
  • Laparoscopic approach to low rectal cancer
  • Perineal resection: cylindrical approach
  • Surgical reconstruction (plastic surgery demo and mesh repair)
