Overview 

This one day course is intended to cover the essential concepts in elderly care, delivered through a series of interactive seminars, lectures and discussions, with the aim of providing the participant with a comprehensive understanding in the management of elderly patients. It is envisaged that the knowledge gained will help to shorten hospital stay, improve patient satisfaction, and achieve better and sustainable elderly care both in the hospital setting & in the post-operative, community setting.

Taught by consultants in surgery, geriatrics, anaesthetics and ITU, this course will feature:

  • Pre-surgical assessment
  • Troubleshooting medically-complex patients
  • Reducing peri-operative M&M
  • Managing demenia & delirium in surgery
  • Orthogeriatrics
  • Comprehensive geriatric assessment
  • Panel discussion
